Which Team Am I?

Team Edward? Team Jacob? Team Bella? orrrrrrrr....Team Riley? Woot woot! That one hottie hunk after Emmet LOL!

Malaysia's Official Premiere was 07-07-2010.

Had my movie fix yesterday with hubby's niece...she's one big fan of Twilight (aren't all teenagers like that?). But it was a fun outing with her...I know she was enjoying herself ....with little screams, with big oh no!, with big and small sighs as the movie goes! *Giggles, giggles*

Hubby refused to go as he thinks this is not the 'normal' vampire stuff! Lucky I have other options to go watch this movie with...hahahahahaha....I would say that this installment is much better than the 2nd installment...and can't wait for BD! YES! But I heard that it's going to be a 2-part movie....what a bummer if it is!

10-minute purse

You must be thinking that I am joking...

Well..well..well....kid you not. Seriously!  The 10-minutes however does not include the preparations though..like cutting, ironing interfacing and marking.

This I learned from my sifu Corine's Crafts who came to KL two weeks ago....I dropped by Kelvin's Bernina shop and met her and the gang who came down all the way from Penang which includes Aniza, Hani and YSL (my other bag making guru)

The stitching and turning and ironing the finished product will take you about 10minutes (unless you make any mistakes) and wallah! The cute, simple and easy to make purse can be ready in no time at all.

This is my wallet that I made:
The folded view of the purse! Love the bright colours!
The back view of the purse with single compartment.
Inner view with the flap opened with 2 compartments

This makes such a good gifting item....with just long quarter meter of fabric and lightweight interfacing and antique style snap button. Gonna make more more and more :)

Teacher's Day Gift

I know that we have gone past the Teacher's Day event...but since I did not have the time to upload or blog about it...this is the time to do it....

I did some cute pouches for Intan and Haris as they were the ones who requested me to do something for their fav teacher....so, here goes

All three pouches ready to go....
1. Red - Japanese Knot pouch
2. Yellow/Cream - Box pouch
3. Brown - Box pouch

The red Japanese Knot pouch is reversible one..

Up close the box pouch....good as pencil/pen case pouch

Another box pouch - also good for pencil/pen case

They are made from FG fabbies....actually only used fat eight. These are done over half day over the weekend. Hope their teachers are happy to get these :)

Asterisks QAL - Block #1

A few weeks back, a quilting friend introduced me to the Asterisks QAL which I already sign-up to participate. Below is the first test block for the QAL...which I do not quite satisfied with...since I have to stitch and unpick a few times to make sure they are point-on-point....but this is quite an experience doing something simple... this looks simple ...yeh...but I had a tough time to align all the points well...anyone has any good tips or tricks to overcome this issue....

Definitely will try some other nifty tricks when I do up my next blocks.... :)

SIggy Block

Got the inspiration to do this from Julie of Jaybird Quilt who organised the 2nd siggy block swap. Since I did not make it to the deadline to participate....was thinking heck...can just do this without a swap for the fun of it....Furthermore this is a simple construction that is quick to finish ...*although it took me sometime to finish due to work and all*

The combination is the fatal lime green and pink...since I could not get grey at my local shop....but I think it made quite a match.....here are some pics to share

This is a test block....it was no longer a test when I have cut all the strips...hehehe

These are some of the blocks already done up.....see the pattern of the colour combination that I used?

This is one of the arrangements that I managed to come up with

This is the second possible arrangement for the siggy block....This will do up nicely a baby quilt or lap quilt with the amount of blocks that I have

The blocks are constructed using
1. 1m of background - natural
2. 4 fat quarters - pink, green, mixed colors of green and mixed colours of pink n green

Blocks yield = 108 blocks
